Minimize All Applications

You know that cute little “desktop” icon in your Windows taskbar? It’s a very convenient way to minimize all of the applications you have open so that you can get to something on the desktop.

Somehow we deleted that little icon a on the family computer and I really missed it. Turns out, though, that you don’t need it at all… there’s a handy keyboard shortcut to do the same thing:

Win + D

Hold down the “Windows” key (has a Windows logo on it) and tap the “D” key once (for ‘D’esktop). Whoosh! All your busy windows are gone, minimized to the task bar, and your desktop icons are in view!
