Who knew that when you were whining that sentence from under your pillow, you were actually being organized?! You told her, didn’t you? A big part of efficiency (when you get past the homework, chores and allowance stage of life) is recognizing what needs to be done now, and what should be done later. Look at your desk. Is there a stack of business cards sitting there with a rubber band around it? Two stacks? Those contacts are not doing you any good sitting on your desk. The most likely reason that they are not in your computer is that it will take time to enter them into your contact manager — and you have better things to do. Enter the card scanner — time saving gadget du jour. Run your cards through this little jewel and, voila!, the contact data is presented to you ready for a final edit, along with a picture of the card. Scan, edit, post to Outlook — snappy!
